Jeremy Adler
Team sports hold such a special place in my heart as I played many while growing up in Michigan. I am a firm believer that youth sports can have such an amazing impact on the lives of children as it promotes friendships, teamwork, exercise, and sportsmanship. I have been managing a team for ESGS since my daughter was in 6U. Over the years as I learned more about the league and my experience grew I felt like I would be able to help the league continue to thrive and provide a place for young girls to play sports. Since joining the board my primary responsibility has been the scheduler of practices, games and umpires. I Have been President for the past two years. I have been encouraged by the direction the league is headed and I would like to continue to be a part of making this league special for the girls of the community. Thank you for your consideration for the 2025-2026 El Segundo Girls Softball Board.
Brie Chappell
My daughter has played softball with ESGS for several seasons now, and I recently took on the role of Assistant Coach this Spring Season. I grew up in Westchester playing soccer and softball. As I reflect back to my middle and high school years, my most cherished memories happened on the field, in the middle of a team huddle, or on a bus ride home after a tough loss. I believe in the importance of sports for young girls. Aside from better physical health, they learn commitment, teamwork, resilience, and how to focus/relax under pressure. I hope my daughter will play well into her teen years. That being said, I’d love to work with the ESGS Board to continue the growth and development of this great league! From 6U to 14U, I believe in the goal of ESGS to provide a safe, yet competitive, place where girls get to explore who they can become both on and off the field. Thank you for your consideration!
Troy Swanson
Team sports has always been a passion of mine. Growing up in El Segundo, I was fortunate to be raised in a town that was full of volunteers who helped make my childhood sports experience second to none. I’d like to be able to continue the tradition of El Segundo youth sports for my daughter and peers so that they too can grow into responsible student athletes. Thank you for your consideration.
Brette Waters
My name is Brette Waters and my husband and I have lived in ES for over 20 years. I have three daughters who attend school in ES- currently a sophomore, an 8th grader and a 3rd grader, so I am experiencing all three schools at once! My oldest daughter (16) played for ESGS for 7 years, starting in 6U, and my youngest daughter (8) has played in fall and spring for the past 3 years. My oldest played on Select teams for multiple seasons, as well as All Stars. We transitioned to travel softball during the 2020 covid summer when there were no other rec sports available. She played under the guidance of Coach Steve Cleland on the ES Eagles for 4 years, and has been playing on the ESHS JV and Varsity softball team the past 2 seasons. So we have A LOT of softball experience across rec, travel and high school environments, and I look forward to sharing my insights with the ESGS Board and ESGS participants at large.
I have enjoyed participating in the ESGS Board this past year and have learned a lot from everyone involved.
We live in an incredible community with awesome people and ample resources and I believe that we can build on the time and commitment that so many have dedicated thus far and create an experience that our girls will value far into the future.
Geoffery West
My name is Geoffery West. I’m currently managing the Silver Select and Silver All-Star teams and have proudly coached in the league for several years.
As a Marine Corps veteran, parent of three daughters, and Project Management graduate, I bring leadership, organizational, and budgeting skills that align well with the board’s responsibilities. I’m committed to supporting the continued growth of our league and creating a positive, competitive environment for all players.
Thank you for your consideration.
Scott Goldfarb
I have been involved in youth sports as a player and coach over many years. I have managed at all levels of ESGS over the past 11 years. I have also coached Little League and high school baseball and softball. I believe that youth sports are a great opportunity to develop our children, and emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship and participation. I have been on the ESGS Board since 2019 as the Treasurer and other roles, and hope to rejoin the Board to help continue the development of the league and the players.
Ellen Porter
I have two daughters (currently 8U & 12U) that have played in ESGS for the last three years and we have very much enjoyed our experience. I grew up playing softball through high school and I would like to bring my personal experiences to help improve and grow the league, if possible. For 10 years, I was a union production coordinator for feature films and I currently work in HR & Operations at a Television Production Company.
I am also a Girl Scout leader for 6th & 7th graders and I am part of the Service Unit Team for my local area.
Tehmin Lee
My daughter has played softball for 6 seasons now with ESGS and really loves it. She has so much fun and met wonderful girls and families. I also enjoy softball and like being an active participant in my daughter’s activities. I’ve been an assistant coach on Rec and Select teams in previous seasons and this past spring season was a head coach for Rec.
I joined the ESGS board in Fall of 2023 and believe I can bring value to the ESGS board going forward. I’m looking for ways to help enhance the experience for the girls and generally help the league improve in any way possible. My current role has been leading the Rec spring and fall uniforms, All Star and Select fan gear and assisting with game / umpire scheduling.
I would love to return to the ESGS board for the 2025-2026 year and continue to contribute. Thank you for your consideration.
Meagan Melanson
I have lived in El Segundo for over 7 years and my daughter and I had our first experience with ESGS during the Spring 2022 season. I was immediately impressed with the dedication, organization, and positivity exemplified by everyone I came across during that first season. It is wonderful to see that the ESGS program provides a safe and fun environment for every girl. The support and encouragement for the players at every level is crucial. I have witnessed so many girls improve their skills, learn to work together and increase their love for softball.
I have served on the ESGS Board since 2023. I grew up playing sports at a variety of levels – recreational, competitive, and Olympic development. I believe that my athletic experiences along with my strong communication and interpersonal skills will continue to be valuable assets for the ESGS Board of Directors. I would be honored to continue to be a part of this great organization that encourages girls interested in softball to have fun, learn and compete at their highest level. Thank you for your consideration. Go Gundo!
Norma Cook
My name is Norma Cook. I am a mom of two girls, I have a full time job as a Code Enforcement Officer in Redondo Beach and I am a resident of El Segundo. Both of my daughters have played for the league since they were 6 years old. My youngest has an immense love for the sport & enjoys every minute she’s out on the field. This little girl has inspired me to join the ESGS League Board. I’m eager to contribute innovative ideas for improving the league operations, promoting events, and increasing player/parent participation. As someone who has participated as a team parent throughout the seasons my children have played in the league, collaborated on organizing fundraisers for the league, snack bar shift coverage, I understand the importance of creating a well organized & enjoyable environment for all players as well as parents in our community. I ask to be considered to serve on the board and know that I aim to support and build on our league’s positive impact to its members, players and community.
Jennifer Garcia
Hi, my name is Jennifer Garcia, and I’ve been living in El Segundo since 2015. I’m really passionate about youth sports and the positive impact they have on girls—building confidence, teamwork, and friendships. I’ve seen how the El Segundo Girls Softball League creates a fun, supportive environment where girls can learn and grow both on and off the field. My husband and I been involved as the parent and volunteer, supporting the team as an assistant coach and team parent, and it’s been so rewarding to watch these girls develop their skills and love for the game. I believe my background in sports and my enthusiasm for helping kids thrive would be a good fit on the league’s board. I’d love the chance to give back to this wonderful organization and help keep it a safe, fun, and empowering place for all the girls in our community.
Joe Medina
I would like to formally express my interest in continuing my role as Sponsor Chair for the El Segundo Girls Softball Board.
Over the past year, I have successfully brought in new sponsors and established valuable relationships that contributed to our team’s financial success. My outreach efforts for the upcoming All Stars 2025 season are ongoing, and I am excited about the potential collaborations I can secure for our league.
As a dedicated parent whose daughter has continuously participated in our league, moving from recreation softball to select teams and now earning her second season in all-stars, I bring a personal commitment to the development and success of our players.
Additionally, my professional background in the fintech industry has granted me an extensive network of business owners and professionals across Southern California. This unique position allows me to leverage these connections to further enhance our fundraising efforts and increase brand awareness for the El Segundo Girls Softball program.
I am eager to continue my work as Sponsor Chair and contribute to the continued growth and success of our league. Thank you for considering my application.
Sandra West
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read this and consider me for a position on the board. My name is Sandra West, and my husband is Geoffery West. We moved to El Segundo in October of 2020 and have loved being part of this community. Our three daughters attend Center Street and have been part of the El Segundo Girls Softball (ESGS) league since the Spring Season of 2022. I have served as the Team Parent for all three of their teams for several seasons, which has deepened my commitment to the league and the development of our young athletes. I am eager to do more for the league and its players, as I believe in fostering a positive and inclusive environment where they can grow both on and off the field. While I have a full-time job, I am open to helping in any capacity, big or small, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the league’s future success.
Eric Rosen
I am excited to submit my name as a candidate for the 2025-26 ESGS Board. I have been involved in the league since my daughter started playing softball again post COVID. In that time, I have been an assistant coach on her 4 8U teams and a head coach (in both Rec as well as Select) in all of her 4 seasons of 10U. I have taken my role as coach very seriously, as I truly believe team sports are integral in supporting these girls to grow as individuals and leaders. The lessons learned on the softball field carry through into life off the field. I have been thoughtful in my methods and my approach to team leadership and want to further that pursuit by joining and supporting the Board. I think that my way of thinking can push the organization to grow and allow for it to maximize the impact it has to the athletes who play in the league as well as the town for which it serves. Thank you for considering me alongside all these other amazing individuals who strive to grow the game of softball here in El Segundo and volunteer their time and expertise to this organization. Go Gundo!
Greg Allen
My name is Greg Allen and my two kids and I moved to El Segundo in 2022 where they have been in team sports since day 1. My daughter just finished her 6th season – starting in 8U and heading to 12U next fall. I have seen first hand the power of team sports. The growth in her confidence and leadership from day 1 to this year has made me a very proud parent.
For me, I played baseball through high school and still play slow pitch softball in ES. I have assistant coached 5 seasons and was a head coach last fall in 10U. It has been an absolute pleasure coaching these girls and seeing the growth and development of them. When the opportunity to help out with website/IT came up, it gave me the opportunity to combine two of my passions (I started a web development company in 2012). Thank you for your consideration to serve on the board.
Ana Medina
My family and I have lived in El Segundo since 2021. Our daughter, Johanna Medina, has been playing in the league since Spring of 2023. My educational background is in communication studies, business management, and project management. I designed the logo used for the spring ‘25 practice shirts, multiple 10u and 8u rec team banners, and spirit wear. I was a co team parent for the 8U spring select team and I am currently the team parent for 8U All Stars. Most importantly, during my time with ESGS, I have created bonds with multiple families, players, and coaches. I’ve learned that these young players are motivated to play, learn, and grow. It’s exciting to create initiatives to assist them in their goals and foster their love for the sport. Thank you for the consideration of being a board member. I look forward to contributing to the league and its players.
Kelly Wise
Hi – I’m Kelly Wise. I grew up here in El Segundo playing softball when it was still called Bobby Sox, and now both of my daughters play on the same fields where I made so many lasting memories. Since their early days in 6U, I’ve experienced this league from every angle — as a coach, a parent, and at every level from recreational play to all-stars.
You’ll usually find me bundled up at the top of the bleachers during games, quietly rooting for every kid and caring about their growth, both on and off the field. My hope is always the same: that they fall in love with the game the way I did — and if not, at least keep playing for fun.
I’m running for the board because I care about the continued success of this league. I’m someone who shows up — I say what I’ll do, and I do what I say. My mission is to ensure these fields remain the same supportive, empowering place for young players that they were for me.
Chelsea Marks
My name is Chelsea Marks. I am a proud, lifelong resident of this beautiful town we all love. El Segundo Softball has been a part of our family for generations. My Grandfather Dan Marks coached for many years when my mother and aunts were younger in this very town, and my Great Uncle Gary Marks was a huge part of El Segundo Little League. I played softball growing up and into high school at ESHS, I am now raising our 4 girls that are following the family tradition of being Gundo Girls.
I would love the opportunity to be a part of the ESGS board, giving back to the community and making a positive impact.
Thank you for considering me for a position on the ESGS board. I’m excited to be a part of this great program.
Darren Laos
My name is Darren Laos, and I am excited to express my interest in joining the board of El Segundo Girls Softball. I have a deep-rooted connection to this community, having started school here in seventh grade and proudly graduating from El Segundo High School in the Class of 2000. El Segundo has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the city that helped shape who I am today.
Over the past year, my daughter has had the privilege of playing softball here in El Segundo after transitioning from the Westchester league. It’s been a joy to watch her grow not only as an athlete but as a teammate and member of this close-knit community. Seeing the positive impact this league has had on her—and on so many other young athletes—has inspired me to get more involved.
With my long-standing ties to El Segundo and a strong commitment to youth sports, I am eager to contribute to the continued success and growth of this program. I bring a collaborative spirit, a parent’s perspective, and a genuine desire to support all players, families, and coaches involved in the league.
